Latex

I am quite often frustrated with MS Word and it's formatting capabilities or lack thereof and how it manages to screw them up. I'm very tempted by Latex but I have to pass documents with my professor and he prefers using Word documents. That leaves me little choice. I did just recently find two very cool wysiwyg editors that make Latex a lot easier. The first is almost wysiwyg and is called Lyx (which is free) and the second is a real wysiwyg called Bakoma Tex (which cost 55 € and up). They're both pretty cool and in some cases you can export latex files to rtf format using latex2rtf, which can then be converted to a Word document. Anyway, for now I'll probably have to just forget about this and go on using Word, but I wanted to note these for future reference.

WinEdt is a nice non-free non-wysiwyg latex editor for Windows.
